THE MEANING BEHIND OUR MOTHER’S DAY PHOTOS

Lauren + her kids

Hi 👋 I'm Lauren. For those of you who don't know me, I work behind the scenes on all things marketing and communications. When we decided our team would take photos with their families as part of our Mother's Day marketing, I was apprehensive. Even though I work at a photography studio with the best photographers around, I don't love getting my photo taken. This photo, though, with my three kids, made me tear-up when I saw it. It's US! And it's way better than a selfie I'd take on my phone. I'm beyond grateful to have this image (to be framed!) and know it will be adored in my home for many years. 🥰 Mother's Day is the perfect time to take family photos for yourself or to give as a gift. ❤️ If you think your kids are too old...they're not...and you'll be happy you did it.

Ilene + her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson

You might know me from your ordering meetings...I'm Ilene! I love working with so many of the families that come through our door. Mother's Day has an extra special meaning to me...being a grandmother + a mother. 🥰 While I have more children and grandchildren scattered around the country who aren't pictured here, I'm fortunate to have my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson live locally in Montclair. This picture of us brings me more JOY than I can describe, as it's a glimpse into our lives and represents how family (near or far) means the world to us. From one generation to the next, Mother's Day is a time to celebrate your loved ones.

Lia + her kids

Hi, my name is Lia. most of you don’t know me because I work behind the scenes retouching photos. I love my job, love seeing families grow, and love watching cute babies turn into young kids over the years. 🥰 I am also a mother of two wonderful boys whom I adore very much. Mother’s Day is very special to me. It’s a day when we can all pause our busy lives and spend time together. Kids grow so fast and taking photos is one way to capture the moments to remember. I am extremely lucky working with fantastic photographers. They do an amazing job of capturing special details, like my children's laughter. One of my favorite things to do is to look back on those pictures and remember the special times.

Mike + his mom

Hey, Mike here! I love photographing so many of you at the studio or outdoors. About this picture...my mom wasn't thrilled about getting in front of the camera. It took some convincing, but once we got started, she ended up enjoying it. ☺️ I have to say, since I photograph families all the time, it was really nice to have my own session to capture my family. Even though I tell my mom about the studio all the time, it meant a lot to me that she got to experience the magic that takes place in a session. ✨ Not only that, she absolutely loved the final pictures of us! She was happy we did it in the end, and so was I.

Nina + her mom and grandmothers

I feel like I know so many people in the New Moon community because I photograph so many families...but for those of you who don't know me, I'm Nina 🤗 This picture is of me, my mom, and BOTH of my grandmothers. I feel so grateful to have three generations with me in this photo...and I actually decided to print and frame this photo for them for Mother's Day (surprise is ruined, but that's okay). After photographing so many families it was touching to have my own family with me. ❤️

Julia + her mother-in-law and kids

Hello! I’m Julia, a photographer and production assistant. Life with 2 little ones can be especially chaotic, but you won't regret taking the time to have a session together. It's important to remember we deserve moments like this to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come as Mothers, and also to remember and commemorate the forever growing bond with our babies…when they had weird silly bowl cuts and cute tiny pig tails...they grow so fast! This past year has been full of big life changes and challenges for our family. My mother-in-law, Ellen, (who my kids call “Dana”- that’s just how it came out!) is such a dedicated and amazing Mother and Grandmother. She has really stepped up to help us all thrive through all of the difficult changes we’ve experienced. This session felt like such a great way to appreciate a very special lady who we love very much. ❤️

Brittany + her daughter

Being a MOM is hard. Yes, of course, it's incredible and brings so much joy...but it's also HARD!

And that's ok. Nothing SO good is ever easy...I'm a firm believer in that. We're all here to support each other and get through the cycles of motherhood together. This year, I'm showing appreciation and LOVE to all the moms out there by offering FREE Motherhood Mini Sessions, including one digital.

Each year, I’m more and more grateful for the photos I have of my family, and I simply want to give back.

Availability is limited.

We have plenty of sessions for moms, grandparents, families….just book a mini session!
